The City Manager’s Office determines whether an activity is considered a Special Event and is the issuing authority for Special Event permits. All new Special Events require initial approval from the New Event Review Team (NERT), followed by final approval from City Council. Submitting a new Special Event proposal or applying for a Special Event permit does not guarantee permit issuance. All Special Events require the issuance of a Special Event permit for each occurrence.
