Project Background:
The City of Venice Utilities Department operates a wastewater collection system, which serves the entire City population. As the City grows, the collection system, specifically in the northeast area of the City, requires upgrades to provide capacity for all of the proposed new developments. The City entered into a Utility Upsizing and Reimbursement Agreement with Meritage Homes to ensure the Knights Trail Lift Station is constructed to meet future development demands for this area of the City.
A 16-inch sewer force main is also being constructed as part of this project. This infrastructure improvement is a key component of the City's long-term wastewater conveyance strategy and is designed to enhance system reliability, increase conveyance capacity, strengthen system resiliency, and support the continued delivery of reliable utility services to the community.
Project Benefits:
Completion of this project provides increases conveyance capacity, and supports future growth in the northeastern service area.

Both projects are in the final stages of construction and are nearing completion.
