The City of Venice So5460810063_eea75b2240lid Waste and Recycling Division is responsible for providing curbside solid waste, yard waste and recycling collection within the city limits. In addition to curbside collection, the solid waste and recycling divisions provide specialized services such as bulk collections and roll-off container service. The City’s Solid Waste and Recycling divisions have the additional responsibility to oversee the City’s disaster debris management program.

The City is currently in the process of converting to residential automated garbage collection. The final phase will be completed in February 2020.

The City's new single-stream recycling cart program rolls out in January 2020. Here's a FAQ sheet of information on the new recycling carts for residents.

On Dec. 1, 2018, a 23% temporary recycling surcharge was added to the current collection fees for program recycling.  This surcharge was due to an increase in the 3rd party cost of hauling/processing recyclable materials and a worldwide loss in demand for resale of the recyclable materials.

Please join your neighbors and fellow residents by going to your app store and downloading the free My-Waste app today. This app will keep you informed about upcoming holidays and possible collection schedule changes. It will let you know what is recyclable and what is garbage when you use the "what goes where" search tool. The My-Waste app will even tell you your collection days and allow you to setup collection reminders. Now the My-Waste app will allow you to set up some service requests right from the web or your mobile device. You can order recycle bins or garbage carts. You can set up for a bulk pickup or arrange service for your roll-off container.
