Our Department
The Venice Police Department has 77 employees of whom 55 are sworn officers, 22 are civilians and one (1) contracted accreditation coordinator.
Uniformed Patrol Division operates within seven city zones and provides a uniformed patrol force. The patrol force is the initial responder to citizen complaints and law enforcement emergencies. Patrol responsibilities include investigating traffic crashes, traffic control and enforcement, parking enforcement, coordinating special event duties, marine and bike patrol, and recording calls for service.
Criminal Investigations Division is responsible for investigating crimes, special investigations, forensics, and property & evidence collection.
The Administrative Services Division is responsible for department training, records, public information, personnel, crime prevention and analysis, code enforcement, school-crossing guards, and Communications.
