Many special events are held in the City of Venice throughout the year. Some of the most popular are the Sun Fiesta, Shark's Tooth Festival, Venice MainStreet Art Festivals, Beach Bash, Chalk Festival, Blues Festival, Holiday Parade, Christmas Boat Parade, Rotary Art Fest, Suncoast BBQ Bash and the Italian Feast and Carnival. The Saturday morning Venice Farmers Market has a regular following.
First time Special events must be approved by City Council. The City Manager's Office then issues a permit allowing them to take place on public right of way.
The gazebo in Centennial Park is a popular place for weddings and concerts. Reservations are scheduled through the City Manager's Office. Sunset beach weddings, concerts in the park, arts and crafts shows, and the downtown strolls are part of city’s unique charm.

Sarasota County issues permits for Venice Beach, Brohard Beach, Maxine Barritt Park, Patriots Park, the Venice Train Depot, Venice Community Center and several other parks located within the city. Contact the Sarasota County Parks reservations office to inquire about scheduling events at these parks at 941-861-PARK (861-7275) or call the County Contact Center, 941-861-5000.
