Field inspections are performed to ensure that work covered by the permit is done in accordance with the approved plans and specifications and is in compliance with all state building codes and city ordinances.
The owner or licensed contractor doing the work authorized by the permit will need to schedule the required inspections when the work is ready and as work progresses. Be sure that no portion of the building, structure, wiring, plumbing, ductwork or equipment, which is required to be inspected, is covered or concealed without approved inspections.
Inspectors are available in the office for assistance Monday Through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Can I check the results of an inspection?
Is it possible to schedule an AM or PM inspection?Neither our 'Online Permitting' service or the Direct Talk Telephone Access system will allow you to schedule AM or PM inspections. However, the 'Online Permitting' service will allow you to enter notes or requests for the inspectors. If you schedule your inspection as directed on the Direct Talk Telephone Access Information Request Form, you may contact the building, plumbing, electrical or mechanical inspector directly to establish an estimated time frame for the inspection.
What do I need to have on the jobsite for my inspection?
You will need to have your permit with any 'approved for compliance' drawings or construction documents posted in a conspicuous place. Also, you will need to make sure access to the work area is provided and any animals are restrained.
