๐๐ฅ๐๐ง๐ง๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ข๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ข๐จ๐ง - has two seats expiring soon. This board meets on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 1:30 p.m. at City Hall, 401 W. Venice Ave. The Commission has seven members appointed pursuant to the City Charter from among residents of the City of Venice. Members serve a three-year term. Planning Commission members:
โข Acquire and maintain in current form such basic information as is necessary to an understanding of past trends, present conditions, and forces at work to cause change in these conditions.
โข Prepare and keep current a comprehensive general plan for meeting present requirements and such future needs as may be foreseen.
โข Propose principles and policies for guiding action affecting development in the City and its environs.
โข Recommend to the City Council ordinances, regulations and other proposals promoting orderly development along lines indicated as desirable by the comprehensive plan.
โข Determine whether specific proposed developments conform to the principles and requirements of the comprehensive plan.
โข Keep the City Council informed and advised as to these matters.
โข Gather information necessary for drafting, establishing, and maintaining the comprehensive plan and ordinances and regulations related to it.
โข Perform other duties which may be lawfully assigned to it, or which may have a bearing on the preparation or accomplishment of the plan.
๐๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐จ๐ซ๐ข๐ ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐ซ๐๐ก๐ข๐ญ๐๐๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐๐ฅ ๐๐ซ๐๐ฌ๐๐ซ๐ฏ๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐๐จ๐๐ซ๐ (๐๐๐๐) - has a vacant seat. The term is a 3-year term. This board meets the second Thursday of each month at 9 a.m. at City Hall. All HAPB members, other than members who are registered architects, shall be City residents or the owners of real property located within the City. HAPB members shall have a demonstrated commitment to historic preservation and, to the extent possible, shall be professionals or retired professionals from the disciplines of: 1. Historic conservation; 2. History, archaeology, folklore, or anthropology; 3. Architecture, historic architecture, or architectural history; 4. Land-use planning or historic preservation planning; 5. Real estate, land development, general or building contracting; 6. Landscape architecture or historic landscape architecture; 7. Conservation, curation, or museology; 8. Preservation law; 9. Professional engineering; or 10. Finance.
๐๐ข๐ญ๐ข๐ณ๐๐ง๐ฌ ๐๐๐ฑ ๐๐ฏ๐๐ซ๐ฌ๐ข๐ ๐ก๐ญ ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ข๐ญ๐ญ๐๐ - has an open seat for a partial term until May 31, 2028. This board conducts an annual review of the expenditures made by the City from sales tax proceeds to ensure that expenditures have been made in accordance with infrastructure project lists and any changes thereto. Members shall be residents of the City. No member may be a full-time employee of the City or private individuals or employees of private firms under contract with the City. The board shall meet annually or as needed to review any changes made by the City to the infrastructure projects or to the allocation of sales tax proceeds for the sole purpose of ensuring that all procedural requirements have been followed.
