Around 2:30 p.m., Friday, Jan. 2, City of Venice Utilities staff responded to a gravity sewer main blockage in the 800 block of Zacapa Ave W.

Using the City’s high-pressure jet truck, Utilities staff were able to clear the blockage and stop the spill. Approximately 200 gallons of wastewater spilled and was entirely recovered.

No stormwater systems or waterways were impacted.

Sampling is not required. Cleanup and notifications are proceeding per protocol.
