City Hall will be closed Friday, July 3, for the observance of the Independence Day holiday. Garbage, yard waste and recyclables will not be collected on Saturday, July 4. City residents whose normal collection day is Saturday will have all their items picked up on Wednesday, July 8.

Live Oak Stormwater Improvements Project Update

Pavement restoration for the Live Oak Stormwater Improvements Project in the City of Venice will begin the week of June 15. The pipe trench lines will be paved on Monday, June 15, and Tuesday, June 16 (weather permitting). The entire project area will be milled and paved on Wednesday, June 24. This roadway restoration will require periodic lane closures.

This project included the removal and replacement of the existing stormwater system along Live Oak St. from Groveland Ave. to Gulf Coast Blvd., along with the installation of a 6-inch water main for future connections.
