Work begins 4/24 at W. Venice Ave. and Harbor Dr.
Furthering Gov. DeSantis’ direction to accelerate transportation projects, the City of Venice is expediting work at the intersection of West Venice Avenue and Harbor Drive as a part of the Phase II Road Bond Resurfacing Projects. Beginning Friday, April 24, crews will remove the existing, damaged paver crosswalks and replace them with textured, asphalt crosswalks to match the remainder of downtown. To support curbside service for the downtown businesses, one lane of traffic will remain open to access W. Venice Ave. at Harbor Dr.
The contractor will also be adding upgrades to Avenue Des Parques near the newly installed angled parking (west of City Hall) and completing base asphalt repairs on Amora Avenue next week.
Final paving in these three areas will occur once the base repair, crosswalk and concrete work is complete. Motorists are urged to use caution as crews work in and near the roadway.
