Venice beaches now accessible for essential activities

Beaches reopened 4.27.20Sarasota County-operated beaches, including those in the City of Venice, are now accessible for essential activities like walking, running, fishing, surfing and swimming, with the following restrictions: 

  • No congregating and visitors must practice social distancing (6 feet apart, no groups over 10). No yoga groups or drum circles.
  • No lounging, coolers or alcohol, umbrellas/beach blankets/chairs, etc. Bait buckets for anglers are OK.
  • No access to parking lots or concession stands. Additional phases are planned which will include parking. Bike racks are available for cyclists. Bathrooms will be open.
  • Beach wheelchairs available upon request. Contact 941-861-5000 for more information.

In the City of Venice, the South Jetty (Humphris Park), Venice Fishing Pier, Brohard Paw Park, playgrounds and tennis courts, and the Children's Fountain in Centennial Park remain closed.
