Venice beach closure 1 3.21.20

In response to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, all Sarasota County beaches, including those in the City of Venice, closed to the public at 6 a.m. Saturday, March 21, until further notice. This also means no beach walking or swimming.

The closure includes beach parks like Brohard Paw Park and Maxine Barritt Park. Beach parking lots are blocked off to the public and there is signage stating the closure. Beaches are being patrolled by law enforcement.

The South Jetty, Venice Fishing Pier, and Children's Interactive Fountain are also close to the public.
