Maintenance on Venice Ave. Bridge

Post Date:02/28/2020 4:52 PM

Sarasota County has scheduled bridge maintenance work for the Venice Avenue Bridge to begin on Tuesday, March 3 and last approximately 2 weeks. This work is in preparation of the re-coating of the entire bridge, which is planned to occur later this year. The work will take place underneath the bridge, beginning on the east side and then switching to the west side. This work is not planned to impact vehicular traffic; however, there will be periodic closures of the parking areas beneath the bridge, and the Venetian Waterway Trail will have periodic detours in place at the bridge. All special events approved by Sarasota County utilizing the Venetian Waterway Trail will continue as planned.

For any additional questions concerning this project, please contact Sarasota County at 941-861-5000.
