Service Club Park repairs UPDATE

Post Date:04/11/2018 4:51 PM

City of Venice contractor Bayshore Construction has received authorization and the necessary permits to proceed with the fire damage repairs at the Service Club Park boardwalk.
Work will commence next week, on Tuesday, April 17, and last for approximately 2 months. The City will be working diligently to get the beachfront park at 1190 Harbor Dr. S. reopened by late June.
About 70 feet of the boardwalk’s approximate 370 feet -- roughly a of the structure -- was destroyed in the March 4 blaze. Two picnic shelters burned; another was slightly damaged.
There is no access to the beach from the boardwalk at this time, and Service Club Park remains closed.
For additional questions, please contact James Clinch, Assistant City Engineer, at 941-882-7410. Thank you for your patience as we restore this wonderful park.
