Valve Replacement Program Phase 13 prelim work 1/13

David Kuxhausen Construction is performing construction work for the Valve Replacement Program Phase 13, a routine maintenance project for the City of Venice’s potable water and reclaimed water distribution systems. Work will include the replacement of existing valves and fire hydrants that are aging or in poor condition. This work will require interruptions to water service in areas where the work is occurring. Temporary roadway lane closures may also occur while the work is being performed to ensure the safety of workers and roadway users.

The work will occur in seven areas. The anticipated schedule and impacts are:

  • Area 1 – 1580 Jasper Court (rear easement)

A reclaimed water valve is being replaced. Preliminary work is scheduled for the week of Jan. 13, with work for the replacement occurring the week of Feb. 17. No impacts to reclaimed water service are anticipated.

  • Area 2 – 1050 Capri Isles Boulevard (east of Building C, in parking lot)

A fire hydrant is being replaced. Preliminary work is scheduled for the week of Jan. 13, with work for the replacement scheduled to occur the week of Jan. 27. An interruption to potable water service for customers at 1050 Capri Isles Blvd. is expected to occur on one day when the fire hydrant replacement work occurs. Water service is to be restored no later than 3:30 p.m. Parking may also be impacted by the construction work.

  • Area 3 – Bird Bay Drive West near 636 Bird Bay Circle

A reclaimed water valve is being replaced. Preliminary work is scheduled for the week of Jan. 13, with work for the replacement scheduled to occur the week of Feb. 17. An interruption to reclaimed water service for Hawks Run Golf Course and condominium on Bird Bay Circle are expected to occur on the day when the valve replacement work occurs. Reclaimed water service is to be restored no later than 3:30 p.m. Lane closures will occur on Bird Bay Drive West when workers are present.

  • Area 4 – 207 Tamiami Trail South

A potable water valve is being repaired. Preliminary work is scheduled for the week of Jan. 13, with the repair work scheduled to occur the week of Jan. 27. No impacts to potable water service are anticipated. The sidewalk will be temporarily closed while work occurs. Lane closures on Tamiami Trail South and Miami Avenue East may occur when workers are present.

  • Area 5 – Turin Street at Riviera Street

A fire hydrant is being replaced on the north side of Turin Street at this intersection. Preliminary work is scheduled for the week of Jan. 13, with the repair work scheduled to occur the week of Feb. 4. An interruptions to potable water service for residences at 219 and 225 Turin Street and 410, 412, 416, 420, 424, 428, 432, and 436 Riviera Street is anticipated on the day when the hydrant replacement work occurs. Water service is to be restored no later than 3:30 p.m. A lane closure will occur on Turin Street when workers are present.

  • Area 6 – 661 Tamiami Trail South

A potable water valve is being replaced. Preliminary work is scheduled for the week of Jan. 13, with the replacement work schedule to occur on Monday, Feb. 10. An interruption to potable water service at 625, 657, and 661 Tamiami Trail South is anticipated when the replacement work occurs on Feb. 10. Water service is to be restored no later than 11:00 a.m.

  • Area 7 – 451 Pine Grove Drive

A fire hydrant is being replaced. Preliminary work is scheduled for the week of Jan. 13, with the replacement work scheduled to occur the week of Feb. 10. An interruption to potable water service at 108, 109, 201, and 451 Pine Grove Drive; 753 Guild Drive; and 704, 708, 712, 716, 720, 724, 728, 730, 736, 740, 742, and 748 Gold Drive is anticipated when the replacement works occurs. Water service is to be restored no later than 3:30 p.m. A lane closure will occur on Pine Grove Drive when workers are present.

Customers whose potable water service will be interrupted will receive boil water advisories in advance of the shutdown. As a precaution, those customers should be prepared to use bottled water or boiled water for drinking and cooking for 72 hours after water service is restored.
