This proposed rulemaking would prohibit persons and vessels from being in the race area unless authorized by the Captain of Port St. Petersburg (COTP) or a designated representative.

The COTP proposes to establish a temporary special local regulation from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sept. 28, 2019. The regulation would cover a rowing race, which would take place on approximately 3.5 miles of the Intracoastal Waterway starting near the Shamrock Park and Nature Center and ending near the Tamiami Trail Bridge in Venice. The duration of the regulation is intended to ensure the safety of vessels and these navigable waters during the scheduled race. No vessel or person would be permitted to enter the regulated area without obtaining permission from the COTP or a designated representative. Additional information can be found on the Federal Register site.
