Seniors: Please take our Hurricane Preparedness Survey
The City of Venice Fire Department Emergency Management staff is working with Jacksonville State University’s Division of Emergency Management to collect and analyze data on the best means of communicating with senior citizens during times of disasters, according to VFD Deputy Chief Frank Giddens.
Through an “Are You Hurricane Ready” survey for Venice residents 55 or older who wish to voluntarily participate, this information will be collected through Jacksonville State University.
The data collected from the study will allow Emergency Management the opportunity to communicate more efficiently with Venice senior adults during times of disasters and emergencies.
The survey can be accessed here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/venice_sc2019. Citizens taking the survey must be at least 55 years old and live in Sarasota County year-round.
Seniors will also be able to access the survey on the City’s Facebook page.
Your participation in this comprehensive survey is valuable and appreciated!
