Downtown Beautification Update 1/10
Below is the Downtown Venice Beautification Project Update for Jan. 10, 2019:
W. VENICE AVE.
Crews are installing the pedestrian fencing in the median on W. Venice Avenue. Once the fencing is installed and the electrical and irrigation is functioning, the contractor will begin planting the new landscaping. Motorists should expect single lane closures for crews complete this work. Amenities such as benches and trash cans will be installed in early 2019.
Irrigation and cleanup work continues near the mid-block crossing on Miami Avenue. Crews are also completing installation of curb and pavers. Motorists should expect single lane closures for crews to safely work.
Underground drainage work continues in the 200 and 300 blocks. Crews will be starting more work on the 300 block next week and there will be limited or no access to parking areas while crews build the roadway. St. Augustine Avenue is scheduled to open to two-way traffic on Wednesday, January 16 once underground locates are completed and signs are installed.
Underground drainage work and roadwork continues from Tampa Avenue to W. Venice Avenue. This includes the entrance to Centennial Park from Nassau Street.
Lane closures are required for crews to install irrigation conduit under Nokomis Avenue between the alley and Miami Avenue.
Motorists are to follow posted street and parking signs. For additional project information, please contact: Jennifer Dorning, Project PIO, at 239-338-7723 or email@example.com
