Adopt-a-Park program sees 9 parks assigned
The City of Venice is pleased to announce that 9 parks have been assigned since the Adopt-Park Program was launched by Public Works Department in October. They are:
Centennial Park, Graser Park, Heritage Park, Higel Marine Park, Mundy Park, Ruscelletto Park, Venezia Park, Venice Fishing Pier and West Blalock Park (Arboretum).
Only 13 parks remain to be assigned: City Hall Park, Dr. Fred Albee Park, East Gate Park, Fountain Park, Granada Nolen Green, Harbor Nolen Green, Humphris Park (South Jettty), John Nolen Park, Madrid Nolen Green, Michael Biehl Park, Milan Nolen Green, Prentiss French Park and Ponce De Leon Park.
This program is for interested citizen groups, schools and businesses to assist the City in beautifying its parks by volunteering to pick up trash and litter, cleaning various park amenities and performing other minor maintenance tasks. Interested participants would need to commit their services at the selected park a minimum of four times a year, beginning after Jan. 1, 2019. The City will provide a 12”x18” sign in the selected park to recognize the participating group or business.
