City Hall will be closed Friday, July 3, for the observance of the Independence Day holiday. Garbage, yard waste and recyclables will not be collected on Saturday, July 4. City residents whose normal collection day is Saturday will have all their items picked up on Wednesday, July 8.

Venice has more than 30 parks ranging in size from tiny pocket parks to the beach along the Gulf of Mexico. Some of the more unique parks include Paw Park, where dogs may romp on the beach, and Venetian Waterway Park, where people may bike and hike on a 5-mile stretch along both sides the Intracoastal Waterway. Please enjoy our parks and beaches while maintaining social distancing guidelines.

This park at the east end of Laurel Road is maintained by Sarasota County. It is located on the Myakka River in a natural setting. Amenities include a canoe/kayak launch, picnic tables, restrooms, playground and nature trails.

Hours are 6 a.m. to sunset.
