Venice has more than 30 parks ranging in size from tiny pocket parks to the beach along the Gulf of Mexico. Some of the more unique parks include Paw Park, where dogs may romp on the beach, and Venetian Waterway Park, where people may bike and hike on a 5-mile stretch along both sides the Intracoastal Waterway. Please enjoy our parks and beaches while maintaining social distancing guidelines.

HecksherParkPlaygroundHecksherParkBasketballCourtThis park with multiple amenities is located on West Venice Avenue across from City Hall. It includes two tot lots and one child-scale playground, six tennis/pickleball courts, two basketball courts with six nets, two racquetball/handball courts, and 18 shuffleboard courts, all with lighting for night play; as well as picnic tables, shelter and restrooms. The park is in city limits but maintained by Sarasota County. Hours are 6 a.m.-10 p.m.

Tennis, pickleball, shuffleboard and basketball courts at this park have a one-hour maximum timeframe of use per match/game. Play is first come, first served; courts cannot be reserved. Park users must bring their own equipment to play, including for shuffleboard on the 8 public courts.
