Those who donate blood will also aid in helping pediatric cancer research. For every successful blood donation during Go Gold Day, a $10 donation will be made to the Benjamin Gilkey Foundation for Pediatric Cancer Research at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, which creates new options for children at the highest risk.
OneBlood officials encourage all City employees and members of the public who feel well to come out and donate the “gift of life” to ensure that blood is available for those patients who need it. Note: It must be 56 days since your last whole blood donation. ID required please.
Additionally, all donors will receive a free $20 eGift Card, Go Gold Day T-shirt, a wellness checkup including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, iron count and cholesterol screening, and a snack.
