Welcome to the City of Venice Utilities Department
The City of Venice Utilities Department provides high-quality drinking water to approximately 11,000 connections and services over 22,000 customers.
Distribution and collection crews are responsible for the repair and maintenance of more than 350 miles of underground water, sewer, and reuse mains. The Cross Connection Control Program involves site survey inspections that help protect the city’s potable water supply.
Utilizing reverse osmosis treatment, the city’s water plant produces an annual average daily flow of 2.3 million gallons of potable water. State certified operators perform quality checks 365 days a year.
Wastewater is treated and disinfected then piped to neighborhoods and golf courses and used for irrigation. The city plans to expand its reclaimed water system over the next decade to provide service to all homeowners in the city.
