The
City of Venice currently has 295 employees. The Administrative Services
office maintains all official personnel records and reviews all employee
requests for employment related activities.
The City
of Venice is an equal opportunity employer. As part of our drug free workplace
program, successful candidates must pass a drug screen and pre-employment
physical exam. In accordance with the Immigration Reform Act, appropriate
identification documents verifying eligibility for employment will be
required. Reasonable accommodations are made during the employment process
for qualified applicants with disabilities.
The City of Venice
has four bargaining units: International Association of Fire Fighters,
Fraternal Order of Police representing Venice police officers, Fraternal
Order of Police representing sergeants and lieutenants, and American Federation
of State, County and Municipal Employees.
All bargaining and
non-bargaining classification and compensation plans are routinely reviewed
and benchmarked with other comparable government entities.
