City of Venice Bicycle Pedestrian Coordinator Darlene Culpepper leads a monthly bicycle ride in the city, open to the public.
It is a fun, casual, 6-mile ride around the Island of Venice, traveling along the ever-so-popular Venice Island Loop that is highlighted on our bicycle maps. The free ride takes place on the second Wednesday of each month at 10 a.m. There will be a brief safety discussion prior to the ride, as the group will be riding along shared bicycle lanes. Participants will need to bring their own bike and will be required to wear a helmet and sign a short waiver.
Bicyclists should meet in the City Hall parking lot at 401 W. Venice Ave.

Event Title: Coyote Forum
Where: Venice City Hall Council Chambers, 401 W. Venice Ave.
Tuesday, August 15, 2017
Time: 6:30 PM
Golden Beach resident Janice Stevenson has organized a Coyote Forum on Aug. 15 in City Hall Council Chambers (enter from the automatic sliding doors at the west entrance). The public is invited to attend.
Speakers will be Angeline Scotten, a biologist with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, and Kevin Barton, director of the Wildlife Center of Venice. After their presentation, they will be available to answer questions from the audience.
Many local residents are concerned when walking their pets because of a possible confrontation with these animals. Organizers are hoping that this forum will educate the public and dispel some of the myths that go along with spotting island coyotes during the day and night.
